bird set free + youtube

Well, this weekend didn’t turn out how I planned, although that’s no bad thing I suppose. The original plan was to head to Brighton on Saturday for some chips, wandering, ice cream, a spot of crazy golf and a pub trip… but it rained, so that changed plans. Instead of Brighton I decided to do something a bit more adventurous with my scrapping and try out sewing - ooooh…

you can go your own way

I admire the scrappers that document their weeks, months, years using Project Life. I’m so impressed by their persistence and skill, but it’s just not for me, mainly because I struggle to remember what I had for tea last night, let alone what I did for tea three weeks ago on a Tuesday night and remember to take a photo of it…

if you just smile

They say bad things come in threes… I really hope that’s true as I don’t think I can handle a fourth. After boldly making a proclamation in January of this year that I didn’t want anything bad to happen and I wanted to get through 2019 without any troubles, April, May and June have laughed in the face of my decree and I’m now having to come to terms with losing yet another wonderful person in a short period of time…

bits and bobs - project life

I’m typing this while wearing a jumper, a big grey fuzzy jumper… it is June. Wimbledon starts soon and I can’t help but wonder what those poor tennis players are letting themselves in for with this mental weather. I need to stop checking my weather app on my phone as every single time I look, it seems to be getting worse…

true facts - a few little things about me

I was posting away on Instagram the other day when I received a message from one of my crafty friends. She nominated me to list 5 facts about myself on my insta stories and to nominate a few other people to do the same thing. After about ten minutes of faffing, I managed to work out how to do that (I’m not the best with using the stories part of the ‘gram) and posted the facts to my feed…

too fussy to fussy cut?

When I was a tiny 6 year old presented with safety scissors in my classroom, a hush would descend around me as I picked them up, carefully put my fingers, not quite, through the hand holes, but braced them slightly on the outside of the scissor arms and began to cut. The children around me would gasp and cry…

what a wonderful world this would be

I’ve been so lucky to never have to deal with a death in the family, I know there are lots of people out there that have been forced to cope with so much pain and heartache and I can’t even begin to imagine what that must feel like. I only know that losing both of my grandparents so closely together has been tough…

brain fail - having a blog post ponder

Do you blog? I wonder if other people do what I do and through the working week come up with a few different topics which might be interesting to write about, but then, on Sunday, when you sit down to write the post, all those ideas run for the hills and you’re left thinking… erm… something about scrapbooking…

planning to get a grip - you got this

Its been a busy few weeks for me and if you’ve happened upon any of my posts on Instagram you’ll have seen that things are finally starting to look up over at Casa Nelly. Its really been a testing time over the last month or so, but I’m hopeful that its ‘up the ziggurat, lickety-split’ from here guys (little Arnold Rimmer quote for you there)…

being catty - scrap and self-criticism

This is probably the most successful scrap I’ve done in terms of the likes I’ve received via the ‘gram. While that is wonderful and I do confess to being filled with joy each time my phone pings with a new comment or little red love heart, I also struggle with it as there are so many things about the scrap that I would change…

journal cards - a few printable freebies

I was having a little ponder the other day about embellishments. I’m a big fan and have quite a few collections in my craft cupboard, however I find that there are always a few bits and bobs that I just don’t use out of each set. Do you suffer from that - some of those die cuts are lovely but just aren’t your style or colour choice, so they just sit there taking up space…
